Life long learning and all that jazz!
My weeks holiday is over and what a productive week it has been. * I have visited the Drama Queen, who is looking well and definately thriving on University life. * I have taught myself to crochet. This task has eluded me for years and years. I visited HK Handknits when I was in Edinburgh and after a chat with Julie, the owner, I left determined I was going to make the Rilla scarf featured in the magazine Big Just Got Bigger..... and by George, I did it!!! Looking at destructions for crocheted items now they don't look like triple Swahili!! I think I might even attempt another poncho that the DQ liked. Personally I don't see the point of it as it's full off holes and if this coming winter is going to be as bleak as they say then....... BBBBRRRRRR!!!!!!!! *My proudest achievement this week has to be the development of this blog!! I recieved an e mail from Donna who lives Dahn Sarf (Click on the link to her blog and Crash explains the details of how we met). In the e mail Donna explained to me how to link our blogs. With this info to hand I set about tackling the task. Being such a technophobe I was a bit bamboozled to begin with but with a LOT of fiddling, what you are looking at is the end result! I LOVE IT!!!!! Might be a bit harsh on the eyes but so what?!!! Tis me!! On the down side of the holidays, Geoff has been preparing the hall for decoration. Being such a D.I.Y perfectionist, he couldn't slap a bit of polyfilla on the cracks, sand it down, then I could throw a bit of paint at the walls. No sireee!!! He has filled, sanded, filled again, sanded, sanded, filled, filled, sanded........all without a flamin dust sheet!!!! My once terracotta carpet now looks that old i think it was previously laid in Noahs Ark!! I blame his Mentor and DIY critic, Farty.
